This will highlight all ways you can add different dependency types in the Gantt Chart view.
In this article, we will look further into setting up dependencies and explain the different dependency options available.
First, we have Start to Start, S-S. This dependency means that the successor item cannot start unless the predecessor item has been initiated.
Second, is Start to finish, S-F. A Start-to-Finish dependency means that you can only finish your previous item if the subsequent item has been started. In other words, the predecessor activity can only complete once the successor activity has started.
Next is 'End to Start'. With this, an item requires the completion of another before you can begin it. Often, this occurs in situations in which the first item creates a critical component of the second.
And finally, End to End, F-F. This means that one task can only be completed after the other task has been completed. A successor activity can only finish after its predecessor has been completed.
In the Gantt Chart, there are also multiple ways to set these dependencies.
