How do I configure access to a folder?
To change who can access a folder, you need Manage permission on that folder. Architects have Manage permission on every folder.
New sub-folders and grids created inside a folder inherit that folder’s permissions.
Changes you make to a folder also apply to everything inside it:
- Anyone you add gets the same permission on every sub-folder and grid inside it, including new ones.
- If you change someone’s permission, for example from View to Edit, the change applies to everything inside.
- Anyone you remove loses access to every sub-folder and grid inside it.
Open the access control panel
- Open the folder.
- Click the padlock icon.
The panel has three sections:
- Left: groups with access
- Middle: individual members with access
- Right: Architects, who have full access by default
Give a group or member access
- In the groups or members section, open the drop-down list.
- Select the group or member. Type in the search field to narrow the list.
They’re added with View permission.
Change or remove access
- Click the permission dropdown by the member.
- In the dropdown, select View, Edit or Manage, or click the Remove X icon to the right of the dropdown to take away their access.
Filter the panel
Use the filter in the top-right corner to show:
- Show all permissions (default)
- View permission
- Edit permission
- Manage permission
Good to know
- Only internal members can have Manage permission. A group that includes any external members can’t be given Manage permission.
